CREATIVE Sound Blaster Play! works on Ubuntu 16.04.
It worked without doing anything for me, it recognized the Sound Blaster Play! by itself.
I'm pretty amazed by Ubuntu 16.04, as it even recognized my Canon printer without installing drivers too .
